Maya Musick
Head Coach 15 National
Coach Maya is a dedicated and passionate volleyball coach with a strong background in playing and coaching the sport. With three years of coaching experience and a lifelong connection to the game, Maya brings a player-first approach focused on skill development, team cohesion, and cultivating a deep love for volleyball.
Maya began her coaching journey with Magic Volleyball, where she was an assistant coach for the 14s Regional and 15s National teams. Her leadership and enthusiasm quickly led her to a head coaching position at Country Fire Volleyball, where she guided the 15s Regional team. This past season, she was the head coach of the 15s National team at Country Fire, continuing to make a positive impact on and off the court.
Under Maya’s guidance, her last team earned 5th-place finishes at both the Cross Court and Lone Star tournaments and entered Regionals ranked 77th. Her coaching philosophy centers on maximizing practice time with a structured, intentional approach—developing individual athletes while strengthening the team as a whole.
Maya’s playing career spanned from age 7 to 18, primarily as an outside hitter and opposite. She also played all the way around, with a special focus on defensive development. Though she received offers to play at the collegiate level, Maya made the hard decision to pursue her education. That decision and the experience of stepping away from competitive play have shaped her commitment to fostering not just performance but also long-term passion in her athletes.
Her deep knowledge and high volleyball IQ make her an exceptionally well-rounded and insightful coach.
Today, Maya remains active in the volleyball community through beach volleyball and coed indoor leagues in Austin. She is continually driven to grow as a coach and is eager to contribute to programs that share her values of integrity, excellence, and athlete-centered development.
